Sunday, September 18 - Sunday we packed up early and were on our way to Death Valley. Today we see a little more wild life, a coyote and a herd of elk. This morning it had been 52° F in camp. When we got to Death Valley it was 99° F.

We drive (wind) out of the mountains down into the salt flats at sea level to reach Scotty’s Castle.

Our last camp is on Mount Charleston, one hour outside Las Vegas. Here we enjoy one of the few camp fires we have been able to have.
Monday, September 19 - For the last time we have breakfast and pack up. Then its on to Hoover Dam and Memorial Bridge. Part of the bridge is in Arizona and part is in Nevada. We lunched at Sams Town Casino in Las Vegas where we met Pat’s brother-in-law and niece.
After lunch and getting settled in our hotel we drove to the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. None of the owners were there. A shuttle took us from the hotel to the strip. This is somewhat overwhelming after being in the mountains for two weeks. We gambled a little and walked the strip.
Tuesday, September 20 - We were all up at 5:30 and ready to head home after a very special trip. Pat has done a great job of planning two great weeks of lovely hikes and sights.
